Start of your adventure. You will depart Edinburgh’s Old Town travelling north towards the heart of Scotland’s central belt. As you pass the iconic fortress of Stirling Castle your guide will enthral you with tales of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.
Our first stop today is the town of Callander. ‘Gateway to the Highlands.’ Nestled at the foot of the Trossachs, Callander offers guests plenty of space to buy refreshments, gifts and enjoy the views of the Trossachs.
We then continued north through Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Hear more about Scotland as you travel to follow in the footsteps of James Bond (Skyfall) and Harry Potter (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) Information about history and folklore. Stunning Glencoe Highland Valley. Hear the bizarre story of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald family. Passing through Fort William is home to Ben Nevis, which at 4,409 feet is the highest peak in the British Isles.
Arrive at the charming village of Fort Augustus on the southern shore of Loch Ness. There are many cafes, shops and restaurants where you can have a relaxing lunch. Stroll along the Caledonian Canal. Then experience the splendor of Loch Ness on an optional 1-hour relaxing boat trip .
Admire the impressive Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge and enjoy breathtaking views of the Nevis Mountains. Enter the beautiful Cairngorms National Park and explore the "Monarch Canyon" country. Follow Lagan Lake before the road climbs high into the Grampians. Cross the Drumgochter Pass and admire the majesty and drama of the pass formed by continued Ice Age glacial activity. Finally, a short stop in the pretty Victorian town of Pitlochry (or Bankfoot) before returning to Edinburgh city centre, arriving around 8:00pm.
You can take a boat to experience the mystical Loch Ness and see the castle on the shores of the lake!
